Getinge to Distribute Contego's Products in Europe

October 4, 2017—Getinge recently announced that it has entered into a partnership with Contego Medical, which is developing its integrated embolic protection technologies for application in cardiovascular interventions. Getinge will distribute Contego’s products in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Scandinavia, with the potential to expand into other territories.

Getinge will distribute Contego's Paladin carotid postdilation balloon system with integrated embolic protection and the Vanguard IEP peripheral balloon angioplasty system with integrated embolic protection. Contego’s embolic protection devices, which couple an angioplasty balloon with an integrated distal filter on the same catheter, enable more patients to benefit from embolic protection as compared to currently available methods, noted the company.
