Endologix Receives CE Mark Approval for Updated Nellix Endovascular Aneurysm Sealing System

January 24, 2013—Endologix, Inc. (Irvine, CA) announced that it has received CE Mark approval for the Nellix endovascular aneurysm sealing system for the treatment of patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms. The Nellix system is designed to simplify endovascular aneurysm repair procedures, treat a broad range of patients, and provide enhanced clinical outcomes. The company advised that the Nellix device is not approved in the United States for either investigational use or commercial sale.

According to Endologix, the updated Nellix system has been approved with enhancements to the previous version, which received CE Mark approval in October 2012. The company expects to begin a limited market introduction of the Nellix system in Europe during the second quarter 2013 and a broader launch is anticipated in 2014. The company will also initiate a postmarket clinical study of the Nellix system beginning in the third quarter of 2013 in selected European centers of excellence.
