Pathway Medical Technologies Introduces Jetstream G2 NXT
August 10, 2009—Pathway Medical Technologies, Inc. (Kirkland, WA) announced the market launch of the Jetstream G2 NXT, a 7-F–compatible version of its peripheral atherectomy catheter. The device is based on the company's catheter technology that is capable of treating the entire spectrum of disease found in patients who have peripheral arterial disease (PAD), including hard and soft plaque, calcium, fibrotic lesions, and thrombus. The Jetstream G2 NXT is designed to remove plaque in the lower limbs, restore blood flow, and effectively treat PAD. It is ergonomically designed to maximize treatment effectiveness and offer nonsurgical candidate patients the benefits of a minimally invasive treatment option, including faster recovery and decreased systemic complications, the company stated.
"The 7-F–compatible Jetstream G2 NXT is nearly identical to Jetstream G2 but has the advantages associated with smaller sheath technology," commented Robert Bersin, MD. "As such, it expands my ability to treat more anatomies and patients with varying degrees of PAD."
