Aidoc Gains FDA Clearance for Brain Aneurysm Triage and Notification

April 6, 2022—Aidoc announced that its artificial intelligence (AI) platform has received FDA 510(k) clearance for triage and notification of brain aneurysms. The company's previous neurovascular clearances include large vessel occlusions (M1), intracerebral hemorrhages, and c-spine fractures.

Aidoc states that the brain aneurysm solution delivers a care coordination workflow for radiologists, neuroendovascular surgeons, and neurologists who treat multiple and different types of patients in a variety of settings and locations.

“In the US, there is tragically a brain aneurysm rupture every 18 minutes," commented Aidoc cofounder and CEO Elad Walach in the company's press release. "It’s an acute condition that can quickly turn fatal, so time is of the essence, especially for late night reading. We’re excited to include this algorithm in our set of neuro solutions, addressing the challenge of providing timely and accurate notifications of brain aneurysm cases."

Walach notes that the new clearance is the company's ninth in the past 3 years.
