Argon Launches UltraStream Chronic Hemodialysis Catheter

March 22, 2012—Argon Medical Devices, Inc. (Plano, TX) announced the United States launch of the UltraStream chronic hemodialysis catheter, which is designed to provide long-term vascular access to patients receiving dialysis treatments. The device is licensed from Rex Medical (Conshohocken, PA).

According to Argon, the UltraStream catheter features dual lumen arterial lines and a modified step tip design that allow for high flow rates and ease of insertion. The step tip design allows for placement both over the wire and through a peel-away sheath. The seamless transition from the dilator to the step tip facilitates easier catheter exchanges. The UltraStream catheters are provided in a variety of set configurations.
