Asahi Intecc Introduces 0.014- and 0.018-Inch Peripheral Guidewires
September 19, 2016—Asahi Intecc announced that it has introduced 0.014- and 0.018-inch peripheral guidewires to its portfolio for chronic total occlusions (CTOs) and frontline cases.
According to the company, the new sizes are available for the workhorse guidewire, Asahi Gladius, and the controllable CTO guidewires, Asahi Halberd and Asahi Gaia PV. The guidewires feature Act One, the company’s double-coil technology that enables excellent torque performance, kink resistance, compression resistance, and shape retention. Furthermore, the shaft of the wires underwent a special process to achieve optimal support, pushability, and device deliverability.
The Asahi Halberd and Asahi Gaia PV possess a microcone tip that facilitates lesion penetration. All three wires are available in straight and preshaped versions, except the Gladius 0.018-inch device, which is only available in a straight version. Additionally, Asahi Intecc has introduced Astato XS 40, a stiff guidewire with high penetration force to challenge heavy calcification, reported Asahi Intecc.
