Baylis Will Distribute Oscor’s Steering and Guiding Sheaths in the United States

November 9, 2022—Baylis Medical Technologies Inc. recently announced it is assuming responsibility for the sales and distribution for the steerable and guiding sheaths currently sold direct-to-hospital by Oscor, Inc., an Integer company, in the United States.

According to the company, the addition of Oscor’s sheath portfolio broadens Baylis’ offerings in radiology and vascular surgery. The companies have begun the transfer of the business and advised that they will continue working closely together to ensure the transition has minimal impact on customers.

Oscor’s sheath portfolio will complement Baylis’ existing product offering, including the PowerWire RF guidewire, which utilizes radiofrequency technology. The portfolio will enhance the companies' efforts to meet the clinical needs of radiologists and vascular surgeons, stated Baylis.

Kris Shah, president of Baylis, stated in the company’s press release, "This strategic partnership will allow Baylis Medical Technologies to expand our vascular footprint in the United States. It will strengthen our ability to provide current and future customers with dedicated clinical solutions that enable endovascular and other therapies."

Baylis Medical Technologies is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada. The acquisition of Baylis by Boston Scientific was announced in February 2022.

Oscor is based in Palm Harbor, Florida. In December 2021, Integer Holdings Corporation announced the close of its acquisition of Oscor. Integer is a medical device outsource manufacturer serving the cardiac, neuromodulation, vascular, portable medical, and orthopedics markets.
