Biolitec Launches Elves Radial 2ring Swift Laser Fiber for Varicose Vein Treatment
June 27, 2022—Biolitec announced it has expanded its Elves Radial family with a new laser fiber, the Elves Radial 2ring swift fiber, to provide a complete laser fiber range for the treatment of varicose veins. The company introduced the new fiber at the 22nd annual meeting of the European Venous Forum held June 30 to July 2, 2022, in Venice, Italy.
According to Biolitec, the Elves Radial 2ring features a distal cap of 1.5 mm in diameter. With the device, larger truncal veins, smaller side branches, and perforating veins can be treated with up to 12 W without having to change the fiber. This simplifies the procedure, especially when treating complicated vein courses.
Additionally, allowing direct puncture using a 14GA cannula keeps the puncture site small, resulting in better aesthetic results. A smaller size can also be used when using an ordinary introducer set: 5 F is sufficient and can replace 6 F, advised the company.
Biolitec stated that its Leonardo laser and its Elves Radial laser fiber family can treat all types of veins and severity of varicosis.
