Biotronik Introduces Pulsar-18 T3 Triaxial 4-F Stent System

January 22, 2019—Biotronik launched the Pulsar-18 T3 triaxial stent system at LINC 2019, the Leipzig Interventional Course held January 22–25 in Leipzig, Germany. The device is indicated for use in patients with atherosclerotic disease of the superficial femoral, proximal popliteal, and infrapopliteal arteries and for the treatment of insufficient results after percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA; eg, residual stenosis and dissection).

According to the company, the Pulsar-18 T3 system combines three technologies to improved implantation procedure: (1) the 4-F low profile decreases the risk of access site complications and reduces the need for closure devices compared with 6-F size; (2) the triaxial shaft design facilitates stable and accurate implantation of the clinically proven Pulsar stent; and (3) the intuitive and ergonomic wheel-operated handle simplifies handling during the procedure for physicians.

The device provides efficient delivery of stents up to 200 mm. The thin struts, low chronic outward force, and high multidirectional flexibility of the Pulsar stent ensure conformability and support to the vessel in all natural vessel movements, stated Biotronik.
