Boston Scientific’s Embold Detachable Coil System Gains CE Mark Approval

January 22, 2026—Boston Scientific announced it has received CE Mark approval for the company’s Embold detachable coil system, which is a new generation of fully retractable embolization coils indicated to obstruct or reduce blood flow in the peripheral vasculature.

The Embold detachable coil system will be available across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa from January 2026, advised Boston Scientific.

According to the company, the Embold system is designed for greater control, versatility, and efficiency during minimally invasive embolization procedures. It is intended to simplify the embolization process and adapt seamlessly to diverse anatomies.

The company stated that the system offers three coil types—Embold Fibered, Embold Packing, and Embold Soft—on a single platform to allow treatment of a broad range of cases without the need for multiple product lines. It features multicatheter compatibility and a kink-resistant nitinol delivery system, stated Boston Scientific.
