BTG Acquires Roxwood Medical

October 5, 2017—BTG plc announced it has acquired Roxwood Medical, a provider of advanced cardiovascular specialty catheters used in treating patients with severe coronary and peripheral artery disease. BTG stated that Roxwood's products complement its existing business and will be offered through BTG's existing Ekos hospital sales force.

According to BTG, Roxwood's anchoring catheters (CenterCross, CenterCross Ultra, MultiCross) and microcatheters (MicroCross) offer options for physicians in crossing complex lesions and arterial blockages. Roxwood's catheters incorporate a self-expanding scaffold that stabilizes the delivery of a guidewire. The devices provide positioning accuracy and support to facilitate the crossing of blockages, mitigating guidewire buckling, and enabling treatments such as angioplasty, stenting, or atherectomy.

BTG advised that it will pay up to $80 million in cash to acquire Roxwood, which includes $65 million paid on closing and up to an additional $15 million upon achievement of certain future commercial milestones.
