September 15, 2026—CereVasc, Inc., a developer of minimally invasive treatments for neurological diseases, announced the appointment of Tony Kingsley as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 15.
Dan Levangie, CereVasc’s current President and CEO, will transition to Chairman of the Board, continuing to provide strategic guidance and support throughout the company’s next phase of growth, stated the press release.
According to the company, Kingsley will lead CereVasc’s strategy and operations as the company prepares for commercial introduction of its initial product, the eShunt system.
CereVasc stated that the eShunt system employs a percutaneous transvenous-transdural approach to the central nervous system. It is intended to enable minimally invasive treatment for communicating hydrocephalus (CH). The device includes an endovascularly implantable cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunt and delivery components designed to treat CH without invasive surgery.
According to CereVasc, Kingsley brings extensive leadership experience with a track record of building and advancing innovative healthcare companies.
“I am honored and excited to join CereVasc at such an important moment in the company's journey,” said Kingsley. “CereVasc has an exceptional team, a compelling vision, and a deep commitment to improving patients’ lives. I look forward to building on the strong foundation established under Dan’s leadership and working with our employees, board, and partners to unlock the company’s full potential.”
The company noted that during his tenure as President and CEO, Levangie lead CereVasc’s evolution from an early-stage concept to a breakthrough alternative to conventional CSF shunting with more than 200 patients who were treated worldwide.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tony to CereVasc,” commented Levangie in the press release. “His deep commercial leadership experience in neurology, strategic perspective, and passion for advancing meaningful healthcare innovation make him an outstanding choice to lead the company forward. I am tremendously proud of what the CereVasc team has accomplished, and I look forward to supporting Tony and the organization in my new role as Chairman.”
In early June, CereVasc, announced it has completed the initial closing of an $85 million Series C financing that will fund continued clinical and regulatory development of the investigational eShunt system, including the ongoing STRIDE pivotal trial in patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus. In late June, the company announced it had completed patient enrollment in STRIDE, which was conducted at 32 clinical sites in the United States, Canada, and Argentina.
