Cook Announces FORMAT Study of Formula Iliac Stent

July 29, 2013—Cook Medical (Bloomington, IN) announced that it is conducting a study of an investigational stent as a potential treatment for peripheral arterial disease. The FORMAT clinical study will investigate the safety and effectiveness of Cook Medical's Formula 535 iliac balloon-expandable stent in the treatment of symptomatic vascular disease of the iliac arteries. FORMAT, which was recently authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration, will enroll 80 patients from approximately 20 treatment centers in the United States. Patrick J. Geraghty, MD, of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, is the study's Principal Investigator.
