Cook Medical and Siemens Healthineers Introduce Integrated iMRI Suite 

April 13, 2026—Cook Medical and Siemens Healthineers introduced their integrated interventional MRI (iMRI) suite at SIR 2026, the Society of Interventional Radiology’s annual scientific meeting in Toronto, Canada.

According to the press release from Cook Medical, the iMRI suite provides a comprehensive framework for MRI-guided procedures. It combines advanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, MR-conditional interventional devices, and clinical workflow solutions designed to support minimally invasive procedures in an ionizing radiation-free environment.

Additionally, suite planning guidance and clinical education are designed to support hospitals adopting MRI-guided interventions. iMRI enables precise soft tissue imaging, tumor targeting, biopsy, and future ablation therapies.

The iMRI ecosystem will use SIR’s VIRTEX clinical data registry and analytics platform, to capture data, support continuous learning and help develop evidence-based protocols. VIRTEX was launched in 2020.

The press release advised that the launch is part of Cook Medical and Siemens Healthineers’ multiyear effort to advance MRI-guided intervention from concept to clinical reality.

In September 2025, Cook Medical announced that its iMRI division and Siemens Healthineers joined with strategic partners to deliver the fully integrated iMRI suite. In July 2025, Cook Medical announced the launch of the iMRI division to collaborate with physicians, hospitals, and strategic partners to integrate real-time MRI that empowers clinicians to visualize anatomy and instruments simultaneously, without the risks associated with ionizing radiation.
