Cook Medical Launches 0.027-Inch Cantata Microcatheter and Alight Microwire

April 10, 2014—Cook Medical (Bloomington, IN) announced the introduction of its 2.9-F Cantata microcatheter with an 0.027-inch inner diameter (ID) and the Alight nitinol microwire.

According to the company, Cantata microcatheters allow navigation when accessing small and tortuous vessels. The 0.027-inch ID Cantata microcatheter complements the existing 0.021-inch and 0.025-inch ID microcatheters as part of the company’s full line of embolization microcatheters. The new 0.027-inch ID microcatheter allows physicians to deliver a larger range of embolic agents to the target anatomy

The Alight device is a companion for most microcatheters and is available in a variety of lengths and configurations, advised Cook Medical.
