Cook Medical Launches Transluminal Biliary Biopsy Forceps Set and Zilver 635 Biliary Stent in the United States

June 8, 2020—Cook Medical announced the commercial launch of two products for biliary duct procedures in the United States: the transluminal Biliary Biopsy Forceps Set (BBFS) and a new 40-cm delivery system line extension of the existing Zilver 635 biliary stent (ZIB) in the United States.

According to the company, the BBFS is designed to facilitate percutaneous acquisition of accurate issue samples for biopsy. The BBFS includes an introduction system coupled with a “cup-and-jaw” forceps design to retrieve biopsy specimens.

The ZIB stent is designed for treatment of biliary neoplasms to restore the natural flow of the biliary duct system. The flexible ZIB stent is resistant to shortening to help precise placement. The 40-cm delivery system permits ease of access for placement of the stent in biliary neoplasms, stated Cook Medical.
