Cook Medical's Zilver PTX Thumbwheel Delivery System Launched in France
September 22, 2016—Cook Medical announced the launched of Zilver PTX paclitaxel-eluting peripheral stent thumbwheel delivery system in France and advised that the French Health Ministry has approved reimbursement for the delivery system.
According to Cook Medical, the rotating thumbwheel system, which is commercially available in approved markets across Europe, provides deployment for the Zilver PTX to treat the superficial femoral artery. The thumbwheel’s ergonomic handle facilitates single-handed deployment and is available with stents up to 120 mm in length.
The Zilver PTX received its initial European CE Mark approval in 2009. In the United States, the US Food and Drug Administration approved the Zilver PTX in 2012.
