CSI’s 2.00 Max Crown for Peripheral Orbital Atherectomy Systems Launched
October 17, 2022—Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (CSI) announced the full market release of the 2.00 Max Crown for peripheral orbital atherectomy systems.
According to CSI, the 2.00 Max Crown, which is built on the company’s Diamondback 360 orbital atherectomy platform, is designed to enable simultaneous modification of both intimal and medial calcium. The new device features an increased 70-µm diamond-coated crown that creates more efficient engagement in mixed plaque, helping achieve optimal luminal gain in mild to moderately calcified lesions above the knee.
“The new 2.00 Max Crown greatly expands the lesions that can be treated with CSI’s orbital atherectomy,” commented Amit Srivastava, MD, in the company’s press release. “This device delivers exceptional luminal gain in mixed morphology lesions above the knee.” Dr. Srivastava, who is with Bay Area Heart Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, was one of the first physicians in the United States to incorporate the 2.00 Max Crown into practice, noted CSI.
