Cydar Medical Announces Strategic Collaboration with Brainlab
June 7, 2022—Cydar Medical, a United Kingdom–based company specializing in medical computer vision, machine learning, and cloud high-performance computing announced a collaboration with Brainlab, a digital medical technology company headquartered in Munich, Germany, enabling its Cydar EV Maps augmented intelligence software to integrate with Brainlab’s Buzz Digital Information Hub.
The combination allows endovascular surgeons to use advanced surgical visualization and machine-learning technology in real time to enhance data-driven decision-making during surgical procedures, and across the entire patient journey.
According to the company, Cydar EV Maps uses next-generation graphics processing unit cloud computing to create detailed patient-specific three-dimensional (3D) maps of soft tissue for procedure planning, image-guided intraoperative navigation, and postoperative review.
Cydar EV Maps will be automatically integrated, displayed, and controlled through Brainlab Buzz to provide surgeons with their preferred operating theatre information and workflows. Buzz 4K visualization technology will display live x-rays combined with the Cydar EV Maps 3D overlay, enabling surgeons to place a stent graft faster, easier, and smarter, stated the company.
The company advised that Cydar EV Maps is the first product from Cydar Medical’s integrated software solutions system. It is currently available in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It is certified Software-as-a-Medical Device with a European CE Mark approval and FDA 510(k) clearance.
