Dublin-Based Vasorum Receives Investment to Support Celt ACD Commercialization

February 25, 2021—BGF announced it has completed a €6 million equity investment in Vasorum Limited, a company based in Dublin, Ireland, that specializes in arterial puncture closure devices for vascular, cardiology, radiology, and neuroradiology procedures.

According to BGF’s announcement, Vasorum developed and markets the Celt arterial closure device (ACD), which is used to close femoral artery punctures. The Celt ACD was FDA approved in 2017. BGF’s investment will be used to accelerate the commercial rollout of Celt ACD in the United States and to invest in new product development.

Vasorum is led by Jim Coleman, MB BCh, who is Founder and Chief Executive Officer, and Chas Taylor.

BGF invests in minority positions in growing businesses and aims to support and facilitate the growth plans of founders and owners. BGF in Ireland is supported by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and the main Irish banks.
