April 19, 2024—The European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS) announced it is seeking expressions of interest to join the writing committee of a clinical practice guideline for major lower limb amputation. The work, which will encompass the management of patients from the preoperative workup phase through to early post-operative/prosthetic phase, will start later in 2024. The closing date for this call is May 12, 2024.

Specifically, expressions of interest are welcome from all health care professionals involved in the management and care of these patients (vascular surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, anesthetists, rehabilitation medics, prosthetists, orthotists, nurses, and other health care professionals).

Individuals who have experience in evidence-based medicine and have the time and enthusiasm to commit toward the project are invited to inquire. Interested individuals can complete the form on the ESVS website to apply for a position on the writing committee.

The web page also provided the contact information for Professor Anders Wanhainen, MD, Chair of the ESVS Guidelines Steering Committee, and David Bosanquet, MD, Chair of the ESVS 2027 Amputation Guidelines Writing Committee.
