Gore Announces Nominees for 2013–2014 Pioneers in Performance Awards for Europe

April 5, 2013—At the Charing Cross International Symposium (CX) in London, England, Gore & Associates, Inc. (Flagstaff, AZ) announced the nominees for the 2013–2014 Pioneers in Performance Awards for Europe. The biennial award acknowledges exceptional work and dedication in the field of vascular and endovascular therapy, including aortic and lower-limb bypass and dialysis access surgery. The award is sponsored by Gore & Associates.

According to the company, the academy of past recipients selected nominees who reflect a strong and ongoing commitment to improving clinical and patient performance through collaboration across four major categories. The four categories are commitment to ongoing learning, dedication to sharing knowledge with peers and patients, dedication to creating consensus within the medical community, and dedication to analysis of outcomes. This year's nominees can be viewed online at www.pioneersinperformance.com/eu/.

The academy of past recipients of the Pioneers in Performance Award selected the nominees; the 2013–2014 honorees will be chosen by ballot. Voting is now open to the medical community and is available via the mobile-optimized online site and at Gore pavilions at major clinical conferences throughout the year. Voting will close in February 2014, and ballots are kept confidential. Final winners will be honored at a special reception at the 36th CX symposium in London in Spring 2014.

Professor Roger Greenhalgh, MD, a past recipient of the award and program chairman of the CX symposium, commented in Gore's press release, “The Pioneers in Performance is a very welcome feature to the CX series. It is greatly appreciated and considered an integral part of the CX program.”
