Gore Honors 2016 “Pioneers in Performance” in Europe
April 27, 2016—Gore & Associates announced the Pioneers in Performance for Europe. The biennial award acknowledges exceptional work in the field of vascular and endovascular therapy, including aortic and lower-limb bypass and dialysis access surgery.
Selected by past award recipients in four categories that correspond with different aspects of clinical collaboration, each winner was selected through popular vote. By submitting the nominee of their choice on PioneersinPerformance.com, the broader medical community chose to recognize the following 2016 honorees on the evening of April 26 at the Gore Medical Mastery Learning Center at the Charing Cross Symposium in London, United Kingdom.
The honorees are:
- For Commitment to Ongoing Learning—Amman Bolia, MD, Consultant Radiologist, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in Leicester, United Kingdom
- For Dedication to Sharing Knowledge with Peers and Patients—Jean-Baptiste Ricco MD, PhD, Professor of Vascular Surgery, University Hospital of Poitiers in Poitiers, France
- For Dedication to Creating Consensus within the Medical Community—Hans van Overhagen, MD, PhD, EBIR, Department of Radiology, Haga Teaching Hospital in The Hague, The Netherlands
- For Dedication to Analysis of Clinical Outcomes—Martin Malina, MD, PhD, Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon Consultant, Malmo University Hospital in Malmo, Sweden
In Gore’s press release, Ross Naylor, MD, a past recipient of the award, commented, “The Pioneers in Performance award program offers a unique opportunity for the vascular community to recognize its own. The exemplary individuals receiving this year’s award encompass the true spirit of innovation. Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees.”
