IceCure Medical’s ProSense Cryoablation System Approved in Canada
August 1, 2023—IceCure Medical Ltd. recently announced that Health Canada approved the company’s ProSense cryoablation system, disposable cryoprobes, and introducers as cryosurgical tools.
According to the company, the approved indications for the device in Canada include the following: ablation of benign and malignant tumors of the lung, liver, kidneys, and musculoskeletal system, and benign tumors of the breast; general surgery; palliative intervention; and other surgeries.
IceCure’s ProSense is a liquid nitrogen-based cryoablation therapy for the treatment of tumors (benign and cancerous) by freezing, with the primary focus areas being breast, kidney, bone, and lung cancer. ProSense has received regulatory approval for various indications in 15 countries, including in the United States, Europe, and China, stated the company.
