Imperative Care Launches Ikon 24 Pro Guidewire for Stroke Procedures

July 20, 2026—Imperative Care announced the launch of the Ikon 24 Pro guidewire. The next-generation neurovascular guidewire is designed for vascular access to help improve procedural speed and efficiency when paired with the company’s Zoom stroke system.

According to Imperative Care, Ikon 24 Pro incorporates a uniform wire with a 0.024-inch diameter throughout the length of the guidewire, engineered to precise control from tip to tail. A progressive support profile with a transitional shaft design that is precisely matched to the Zoom catheters to balance support and flexibility above and below the arch.

Also, it is designed to enhance tactile feedback to provide intuitive handling and real-time control. Together, these capabilities are intended to give physicians a guidewire designed to enhance the entire stroke system for aspiration thrombectomy, stated Imperative Care.

The company noted that Ikon 24 Pro builds on the same approach behind Imperative Care’s Zoom 0.088-inch intracranial access technology, which combines proximal support for the arch and distal flexibility for navigating tortuous neurovasculature.

Kunal Vakharia, MD, from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, was among the first physicians to perform patient cases with the guidewire.
