InspireMD Names Dr. Peter Soukas as Chief Medical Officer
November 3, 2025—InspireMD, Inc. announced the appointment of Peter A. Soukas, MD, as Chief Medical Officer. InspireMD is the developer of the CGuard Prime carotid stent system, which it launched in July 2025.
The company advised that Dr. Soukas will be maintaining his clinical practice in addition to his role at InspireMD.
According to InspireMD, Dr. Soukas serves as the Director of Vascular Medicine and the Peripheral Vascular Interventional Laboratory at The Miriam Hospital and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. At Brown, he directs the Vascular and Endovascular Medicine Fellowship Program, which he founded.
Dr. Soukas has served as the site Principal Investigator on more than 24 trials in carotid stenting and the site Principal Investigator on more than 150 endovascular trials. He is a highly sought-after speaker having delivered over 300 invited lectures, and is a prolific researcher, publishing dozens of peer-reviewed papers with deep relationships among other key opinion leaders who shape the field, noted the company.
