Interventional Systems and Siemens Partner to Comarket Robotics in Angiography Suites

September 24, 2025—Interventional Systems and Siemens Healthineers announced a comarketing agreement to promote robot-assisted percutaneous procedures in the Siemens Healthineers angiography suites.

According to the companies, their respective technologies offer clinicians greater confidence and control to deliver better care to their patients:

  • The Interventional Systems Micromate is a miniature robotic platform cleared for two-dimensional and three-dimensional image-guided, needle-based procedures that delivers submillimeter accuracy to reduce radiation exposure to operating room staff and patients and speed up intervention times.
  • The Siemens Healthineers Artis systems offer high-resolution real-time imaging.

The collaboration leverages the strengths of both companies to address the demand for enhanced precision and efficiency in image-guided therapies, noted the companies’ announcement.

Pedro Costa, Chief Strategy Officer at Interventional Systems, and Jayant Saha, MBBS, DMRD, Head of Global Business Development for Interventional Radiology at Siemens Healthineers, discussed the collaboration in the announcement.

“We believe that performing a procedure in the angio suite provides interventional radiologists with the most optimal, safe, and effective way to perform percutaneous interventions,” commented Costa. “With this partnership, we can offer hospitals a powerful and seamless solution that enhances procedural precision and efficiency. Our shared goal is to make these advanced procedures more accessible, ultimately benefiting patients worldwide.”

Dr. Saha stated, “Instilling greater clinical confidence, delivering repeatable precision performance, and supporting procedural reliability is at the core of everything we do to bring value to our customers. This partnership with Interventional Systems can help speed up procedures, freeing procedure room time while enhancing quality of care. We anticipate this collaboration will help clinicians to achieve greater accuracy, perform procedures more quickly, and potentially reduce radiation dose to patients and operating room staff.”
