J&J MedTech Launches Cereglide 92 Catheter to Treat Acute Ischemic Stroke
February 14, 2025—Johnson & Johnson MedTech recently launched their Cereglide 92 catheter system for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Cereglide 92 is a 0.092-inch catheter with Innerglide 9 delivery aid indicated for use in facilitating the insertion and guidance of interventional devices in the neurovascular system.
“As an early user of Cereglide 92 and Innerglide 9, this super large-bore catheter system helps provide quick and seamless access to the M1 with the benefit of flow control, allowing us to rapidly reperfuse the patient and extend the benefits of next-generation stroke technology to more patients,” commented Brian Jankowitz, MD, in the company’s announcement. Dr. Jankowitz is Chief of Neurosurgery and Co-Chair of the Stroke and Neurovascular Program at the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at JFK University Medical Centerix.
According to the company, the 0.092-inch inner diameter catheter system allows physicians to achieve large distal access, and it is designed to provide flow reduction in the M1 when inserting devices for the revascularization of patients with acute ischemic stroke.
Johnson & Johnson MedTech shared that the catheter system is packaged along with the Innerglide 9 delivery aid, uses Brite-Line technology for visibility, a TruCourse technology to aid in flexibility and trackability.
The Cereglide 92 catheter system is commercially available in the United States.
