Jotec Launches E-tegra AAA Stent Graft System in Europe

March 3, 2015—Jotec GmbH announced the European launch of the E-tegra abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) stent graft system, which received CE Mark approval in November 2014. E-tegra is indicated for the endovascular treatment of infrarenal AAA. Jotec will continue to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the E-tegra device in an international postmarket registry to be led by principal investigator Sven Seifert, MD, from the Hospital Chemnitz in Chemnitz, Germany.

According to Jotec, E-tegra’s asymmetric spring configuration allows for three-dimensional flexibility while maintaining appropriate longitudinal stiffness. The asymmetric stent shape and a seamless polyester cover provide conformability and vessel adaption even in complex anatomies. The E-tegra delivery system has a low crossing profile of 18 F (outer diameter) and offers excellent pushability and enhanced flexibility without risk of kinking. The hydrophilic coating of the catheter facilitates introduction and advancement even in narrow and tortuous vessels, stated the company.
