M2S and SonoSoft Collaborate to Support the VQI Varicose Vein Registry
May 1, 2015—M2S, Inc. and SonoSoft announced a licensing agreement in an effort to reduce registry data entry time for the new Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) Varicose Vein Registry. SonoSoft will provide electronic medical records (EMR) integration for the M2S Pathways platform, allowing collection of more comprehensive data for improved patient care.
According to the companies, this licensing agreement will allow vein centers, hospitals, and outpatient facilities that are participating in the registry to significantly improve their data entry workflow and efficiency. SonoSoft’s EMR software will automate the data capture of more than 150 data fields on the web-based Pathways form for the registry, including patient demographics, patient history, procedure details, and follow-up.
The companies stated that SonoSoft provides an automated process for uploading the data required for the M2S Pathways platform and the Varicose Vein Registry. By linking the M2S Pathways clinical registry functionality with SonoSoft’s EMR functionality, staff and physicians can improve both quality of care and efficiency. Vein specialists’ electronic medical records can be shared with other physicians and can conform to standards for medical billing with insurance companies as well.
SonoSoft EMR is a software solution and report generation tool for streamlining medical records. SonoSoft’s point-and-click function eliminates the need for dictation and provides comprehensive EMR solutions for vein specialists, cardiology, general surgery, ophthalmology, and physical therapy.
The VQI is a collaboration between regional groups that use a patient safety organization and the M2S Pathways cloud-based system. VQI collects and analyzes data to improve the quality of vascular care. Currently, VQI has more than 330 facilities and 2,500 physicians participating and more than 200,000 vascular procedures reported. VQI’s 12 clinical registries are Carotid Endarterectomy, Carotid Artery Stenting, Open Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Repair, Endovascular AAA Repair (EVAR), Thoracic EVAR and Complex EVAR, Infrainguinal Bypass, Suprainguinal Bypass, Lower Extremity Amputation, Peripheral Vascular Intervention, Hemodialysis Access, Inferior Vena Cava Filter, and Varicose Vein.
