Merit Medical Launches Super Hero and Hero Ally Dialysis Access Products
October 18, 2016—Merit Medical Systems, Inc. announced the launch of its Super Hero and Hero Ally dialysis access products, which will be introduced in the United States during the next 30 days. The devices will be scheduled for release in Europe after receipt of CE Mark approval.
According to the company, the Super Hero and Hero Ally devices are designed to assist in preserving existing fistulas or grafts that are in the process of failing because of central venous stenosis. These devices expand upon the company's Hero graft, providing an option of early cannulation grafts to bypass central venous stenosis. Merit Medical announced the purchase of the Hero graft device and related assets from CryoLife, Inc. in February 2016.
