Navigantis Begins Neurovascular Study of Vasco Interventional Robotic Platform
January 10, 2025—Navigantis Inc. recently announced the first successful neurovascular clinical cases performed with its Vasco interventional robotic platform to treat patients with neurovascular disorders.
According to the company, the neurovascular interventional robotic clinical trial includes patients undergoing diagnostic cerebral angiography, brain tumor embolization, and mechanical thrombectomy for ischemic stroke. The study is led by Professor Dong Joon Kim, MD, Chairman of Radiology at Severance Hospital in Seoul, South Korea.
“These first successful robotic cases are a major stepping stone toward treating more complex neurovascular diseases,” commented Prof. Kim in the company’s press release.
This study builds on Navigantis’ first-in-human trial in 2022 that used a previous-generation Vasco platform to perform robotic embolization of liver tumors, stated the company.
Navigantis advised that the Vasco platform is an investigational device and is currently undergoing clinical evaluation outside the United States; it is not approved for commercial use in any jurisdiction, including the United States.
