Nipro’s Cronus HP PTA Balloon Catheter Introduced in United States
March 30, 2022—Nipro Medical Corporation announced the introduction of the second-generation Cronus HP high-pressure percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloon catheter in the United States.
The Cronus HP PTA device is indicated for use in popliteal, femoral, iliac, and renal arteries, as well as in the treatment of arteriovenous fistulas for hemodialysis patients. Cronus HP allows graduated control angioplasty using a single balloon.
According to the company, the Cronus HP provides strength, flexibility, and durability at high pressures; aids in using one balloon during a procedure; facilitates entry across the lesion; and helps minimize balloon dog boning and to address difficult stenoses (eg, juxta-anastomotic).
As of summer 2022, Cronus HP will be available for purchase either standalone or together with AquaLiner hydrophilic guidewire and GM-30 inflation device, advised Nipro.
