OrbusNeich Introduces Peripheral Artery Disease Device Portfolio

May 24, 2016—OrbusNeich announced that it has expanded its portfolio to include products to treat peripheral artery disease. The Jade and Scoreflex percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) balloons are the company’s first devices for lower limb and arteriovenous (AV) fistula interventions.

OrbusNeich’s Jade noncompliant balloon for below-the-knee treatment features a hybrid rapid-exchange/over-the-wire design. The Scoreflex PTA device, a dual-wire balloon designed for "focused force" angioplasty, enables lesion optimization at lower pressures. Both devices will be 0.014-inch compatible and available in 150-cm working lengths.

OrbusNeich also introduced a 0.018-inch Scoreflex PTA balloon for superficial femoral artery (SFA) treatment, available in 90-cm working lengths. This focused force angioplasty device has been designed to allow for balloon stability at larger diameters needed for treating the SFA.

In addition to their lower limb intervention options, OrbusNeich will be offering a 40-cm working length Scoreflex PTA balloon for the treatment of patients on long-term dialysis with chronic restenosis of their AV fistula. According to the company, focused force angioplasty technology is ideal in these resistant lesions where balloon stability and resolution of the stenosis at a lower pressure can be beneficial.
