September 10, 2026—Q’Apel Medical, a developer of devices for neurovascular intervention, announced the United States launch of the Lynx aspiration catheter system after receiving FDA clearance.

According to the company, Lynx is a family of catheters to support mechanical thrombectomy for the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke caused by vessel occlusion. The unified Lynx platform includes three inner-diameter sizes (0.044, 0.058, and 0.072 inch) for optimal vessel-to-catheter ratios and coaxial compatibility across all sizes.

Q’Apel Medical stated that the Lynx aspiration catheter system delivers the tracking, versatility, navigability, and support required for accessing complex cerebrovascular anatomy. The device provides the flexibility and control needed to efficiently adapt to changing flow dynamics during time-sensitive mechanical thrombectomy procedures.

Built on QLCT, the Q’Apel laser cut tube technology, the Lynx device features a bimetal shaft design intended to balance proximal support with distal flexibility. Its open-spaced nitinol structure aims to provide kink resistance and structural resilience to maintain lumen patency; preserve deliverability; and transmit force effectively, stated the company.
