RapidPulse Closes Series A Financing to Support Ischemic Stroke Therapy
June 23, 2021—RapidPulse, Inc. announced the closing of a $15 million Series A financing that the company plans to use to advance its RapidPulse cyclic aspiration system through expanded clinical evaluation and build out its platform of proprietary catheters. RapidPulse includes a novel aspiration pump to allow rapid and consistent removal of blood clots from the brain.
According to the company, the RapidPulse system was developed by Syntheon LLC, a medical device incubator. RapidPulse, Inc. is a spinout of Syntheon. The financing was led by Santé Ventures and joined by Epidarex Capital, Hatteras Venture Partners, Broadview Ventures, and Syntheon.
The company also advised that it has hired industry veterans Heather Harries, who will lead product development and operations, and Cynthia Yang, who will lead clinical development. Harries most recently served as General Manager for Terumo’s aortic business. Yang worked in the neurovascular division of Medtronic.
