Remedy Robotics and Australian Stroke Alliance Partner to Expand Access to Endovascular Thrombectomy

October 13, 2025—Remedy Robotics announced it has entered into a strategic partnership with the Australian Stroke Alliance to expand access to endovascular thrombectomy across Australia.

The Australian Stroke Alliance is a consortium of more than 40 government and private sector organizations working to improve the national stroke care infrastructure, and Remedy Robotics is a developer of robotic systems for remote cardiovascular and neurointerventional procedures.

Under the agreement, the Australian Stroke Alliance has selected Remedy as its exclusive robotics partner to advance stroke intervention in hospitals throughout the country. The partners will pursue regulatory approvals and coordinate national rollout of the system, stated Remedy Robotics.

According to the company, the collaboration aims to bring Remedy’s remotely operated robotic system for cardiovascular intervention to Australian hospitals to address significant disparities in access to stroke care. Endovascular thrombectomy remains the gold standard for large vessel occlusion stroke, yet availability outside major urban centers remains limited, noted Remedy.

The company further stated that by enabling specialists to perform remote endovascular procedures using Remedy’s robotic technology, the partnership aims to reduce treatment delays, improve outcomes, and allow more equitable access to stroke care across rural and Indigenous populations.

In the press release, Professor Stephen Davis, MD, and Professor Geoffrey Donnan, MD, Cochairs of the Australian Stroke Alliance, emphasized the impact of geography on stroke outcomes.

“Australia’s geography presents a unique challenge in delivering timely stroke care, with many patients living hours from the nearest specialist center,” they commented. “Partnering with Remedy Robotics allows us to reimagine what’s possible and bring expert stroke intervention to people in rural and remote communities, without delay.”
