Roger S. Gammon, MD, 1960-2021

September 22, 2021—Duke Heart announced the death of Roger Gammon, MD, an interventional cardiologist who trained at Duke. Dr. Gammon was born in 1960 in Paola, Kansas, and spent his career in Austin, Texas. He died on Sunday, August 29 after a brief illness.

Before his retirement earlier this year, Dr. Gammon served as Director of the Center for Advanced Cardiovascular Research at Austin Heart. At Duke, he did his clinical cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiovascular fellowship training from 1988 to 1992. From there, he went into practice at Austin Heart.

The obituary stated that a Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Riverbend Church (Home for Hope) at 4214 N. Capital of Texas Highway in Austin. Dr. John Simpson will present a eulogy. Sam Crosby of San Saba First Baptist Church will officiate a service.
