Salus Scientific Launches PeRM Program for Radiation Safety
May 5, 2025—Salus Scientific Corporation recently announced the launch of its PeRM personal radiation monitoring program, which is designed to improve safety for health care professionals exposed to scatter radiation.
In the PeRM program, Salus Scientific is collaborating with Polimaster, whose RadFlash real-time dosimetry technology is integrated into Salus’ radiation protection garments and the Salus Shield platform.
According to Salus, RadFlash-enabled dosimetry gives immediate feedback, enabling staff to make informed decisions to reduce radiation exposure in accordance with ALARA—as low as reasonably achievable—principles. Additionally, the PeRM program provides educational resources and data collection tools to inform best practices within fluoroscopy suites.
The company stated that this solution empowers health care workers to “know your dose” by providing continuous, live tracking of radiation exposure levels during procedures.
The comprehensive approach is intended to enhance safety culture and promote personal accountability among interventionalists, surgeons, and supporting staff, stated Salus.
