September 1, 2026—Shockwave Medical announced on the company’s LinkedIn page that it will be rebranded as Johnson & Johnson MedTech with Shockwave’s technologies to be known as “circulatory restoration solutions,” effective October 1, 2026.
In April 2024, Johnson & Johnson announced its plans to acquire Shockwave Medical, a provider of intravascular lithotripsy technology for the treatment of calcified coronary artery disease and peripheral artery disease. In addition to its IVL platform, Shockwave had acquired Neovasc Inc., developer of the Reducer system for symptom relief of refractory angina, in April 2023.
Completion of the Shockwave acquisition was announced by Johnson & Johnson in May 2024.
