Silk Road Launches Tapered Enroute Transcarotid Stent System for TCAR
March 5, 2024—Silk Road Medical, Inc. announced that it has launched its tapered Enroute transcarotid stent system to hospitals in the United States. The launch expands on the company’s previous Enroute transcarotid stent system, offering additional configurations to better tailor the transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) procedure to patient anatomy.
According to the company, the Enroute system is a commercially available transcarotid stent system indicated for patients at high and standard risk for adverse events from carotid endarterectomy. The stent system’s cell design balances lesion coverage and anatomic conformability for long-term plaque stabilization. It is purpose-built for TCAR with a short delivery system for ergonomic and precise stent delivery.
“The new tapered stent is a welcome addition to my TCAR tool kit, further differentiating the company’s core product offering,” commented Joseph V. Lombardi, MD, in the company’s press release. “The Enroute stent has always provided comprehensive lesion coverage and durable procedural outcomes, but I now have more options to customize treatment to each patient’s anatomy.” Dr. Lombardi is Professor and Chief of Vascular Surgery at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, New Jersey.
