Society for Vascular Surgery Names 2022-2023 Officers
September 27, 2022—The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) recently announced its 2022-2023 officers. The Vice President and Secretary were elected via virtual voting and the results were announced at the SVS 2022 Vascular Annual Meeting, which was held June 15-18 in Boston, Massachusetts.
The full slate of officers is:
- Michael Dalsing, MD—President
- Joseph L. Mills, MD—President-elect
- Matthew Eagleton, MD—Vice President
- Keith Calligaro, MD—Treasurer
- William Shutze, MD—Secretary
Dr. Dalsing succeeds 2021-2022 President Ali AbuRahma, MD.
According to SVS, Dr. Dalsing started the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, and served as its director until 2017. He is currently a staff vascular surgeon with IU Health Physicians and Professor Emeritus of Surgery within the Division of Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Mills is the Reid Endowed Professor and Chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, and Program Director of Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Eagleton is Chief of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the Robert R. Linton, MD, Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He codirects the MGH Fireman Vascular Center and codirects the MGH Thoracic Aortic Center.
Dr. Calligaro is Chief of the Section of Vascular Surgery and Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Shutze cofounded Texas Vascular Associates in Plano, Texas, in 1997 and is Codirector of the Aortic Program at the Heart Hospital Plano.
