Soundbite Medical Enters Into Licensing Agreement With VFLO Medical for Devices in China

November 15, 2022—Soundbite Medical Solutions Inc., a Montreal, Canada–based developer of interventional devices for the treatment of calcific occlusive peripheral and coronary artery diseases, announced that it has entered into an exclusive license agreement with China-based VFLO Medical. Soundbite has granted VFLO an exclusive license for certain proprietary products, including its SoundBite crossing system and the Active microcatheter system.

Under the agreement, VFLO is entitled to manufacture, develop, and commercialize the products in the Greater China region, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. In return, Soundbite is entitled to receive an up-front fee, subsequent milestone payments, and royalties from sales of such products. The terms also allow cross-licensing on future improvements of the products, aligning both companies’ focus on innovation.

Dong Wu, President and CEO of VFLO, commented in the press release, “The growing prevalence of atherosclerotic vascular disease burdened by calcium has become a serious public health problem in China.
