Stryker’s Inari Medical Launches Next-Generation InThrill Thrombectomy System
J
uly 29, 2025—Inari Medical, now part of Stryker, announced the launch of its next-generation InThrill thrombectomy system.
According to the company, InThrill is a purpose-built, small vessel and arteriovenous (AV) access thrombectomy system designed to deliver fast, full luminal clot removal. The second-generation device is an 8-F, over-the-wire system comprising the InThrill thrombectomy catheter and the InThrill sheath.
As noted in the press release, InThrill’s features include increased radial force for improved luminal wall apposition and an offset, single open mouth. Internal struts provide even clot distribution within the element, and the back end was redesigned to streamline ergonomics and improve user experience.
On May 19, 2025, the first commercial procedure using the new InThrill thrombectomy system was performed by Joshua Pinter, MD, and Anish Ghodadra, MD, of the UPMC health care system in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
“The next generation of InThrill has made our thrombectomies more effective and consistent than ever,” commented Dr. Pinter in the company’s press release.
Dr. Ghodadra added, “Inari’s dedication to building a small vessel tool has changed our paradigm of treatment for AV access thrombectomy.”
On February 19, 2025, Stryker acquired Inari Medical.
