SVS Provides Resource Center and Communications for Managing COVID-19

April 7, 2020—The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) has created a COVID-19 Resources for Members webpage to provide updated information on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact related to vascular surgery, including regulatory changes and guides for financial assistance for practices such as the provisions of the CARES Act and small business administration loans. The site also has clinical practice guidelines and tools that address vascular surgery triage, telemedicine, and COVID-19 prevention and treatment. The resources page also provides links to resources for managing the crisis from various medical societies and the government.

In a letter to members, SVS President Kim Hodgson, MD, outlined the society’s communication and administrative initiatives. Among these initiatives, the SVS Pulse newsletter will be published weekly to provide breaking news to members, and the online SVSConnect platform continues to serve members by addressing problems, solutions, and commentary on everything in the vascular surgery domain.
