VEITHsymposium Names Dr. Gustavo Oderich as Executive Director and Future Chairman

October 9, 2027— Frank J. Veith, MD, Chairman of the VEITHsymposium, announced that Gustavo S. Oderich, MD, will be assuming the role of the organization’s Executive Director with a commitment to become the future Chairman of the meeting.
Dr. Oderich is the Michael E. DeBakey Endowed Chair in Surgery and Professor and Chief of Vascular Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
The members of the VEITHsymposium team will continue in their present roles, including Enrico Ascher, MD, as Co-Chair of the annual meeting.
The statement from Dr. Veith noted that VEITHsymposium has been a leading vascular congress for more than 53 years.
“It is the hope of the organization’s leaders that the meeting and its associated activities continue long into the future, and that it evolves and improves to maintain its quality and prominence in the vascular world,” commented Dr. Veith. “As in the past, this will include highlighting key developments and advances made by vascular surgeons and specialists from all over the world as well as by our industry partners.”
Dr. Veith continued, “We believe this change in leadership will improve the meeting’s long-term evolution to enhance its ability to provide the best, most innovative and most up-to-date educational experience to all those interested in the management of vascular diseases.”
The VEITHsymposium 2026 will convene November 17-21 at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York, New York.
