Wallaby Medical Will Distribute Brainomix e-Stroke Software Platform in China
August 26, 2021—Wallaby Medical and Brainomix Limited announced the signing of a new distribution agreement. Wallaby is a medical device company focused on treating stroke. Wallaby has headquarters in Shanghai, China, and Laguna Hills, California. Brainomix, which is headquartered in Oxford, United Kingdom, specializes in the creation of artificial intelligence- (AI-) powered imaging biomarkers and software solutions that enable precision medicine.
As part of the agreement, Wallaby will distribute Brainomix’s e-Stroke software to stroke centers across Greater China. The e-Stroke suite provides clinicians with a comprehensive stroke imaging solution. Brainomix was founded in 2010 as a spin-out of the University of Oxford.
According to the companies, Brainomix’s e-Stroke is an AI-powered software platform that supports physicians across a stroke network by providing real-time interpretation of brain scans to help guide treatment and transfer decisions for stroke patients. The e-Stroke platform consists of the following three modules: e-ASPECTS, e-CTA, and e-CTP. These modules can support comprehensive imaging-based needs, enabling full network solutions, from simple imaging to more advanced assessments.
The team of Jiao Liqun, MD, at Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University in Beijing, China, commented in the announcement, “e-Stroke platform is a powerful and effective AI diagnostic software to assess early ischemic signs on stroke patients’ plain CT brain scans. It helps to identify appropriate patients for thrombectomy and leads to improved patient outcomes.”
