VIVA Physicians to Hold Forum on Drug Elution in Peripheral Artery Disease

December 14, 2018—With the recent concerns centered around drug-eluting devices and peripheral arterial disease, VIVA Physicians, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to education and research in vascular medicine and intervention, announces its plan for an international forum to discuss “Drug Elution in Peripheral Artery Disease: A Critical Analysis From a Multispecialty Consortium.”

Thought leaders from around the world with recognized expertise in peripheral vascular intervention will be invited, along with representatives from the major medical societies, the commercial medical device sector, United States regulatory and reimbursement agencies, as well as patient advocates, to attend a 1.5-day event in Washington DC. This event is targeted for February 2019.

The goal of this forum is to analyze and debate the efficacy and safety of specific categories of minimally invasive, catheter-based interventions. Funding for this consortium will be provided solely by VIVA.
