AngioDynamics’ AlphaVac Mechanical Thrombectomy System Cleared by FDA

June 8, 2021—AngioDynamics, Inc. announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for the AlphaVac mechanical thrombectomy system.

According to the company, AlphaVac is an off-circuit, multipurpose mechanical aspiration thrombectomy device for the nonsurgical removal of thrombi or emboli from the vasculature.

AngioDynamics anticipates the commercial release of the AlphaVac system to occur in the second half of calendar year 2021.
