Embolx Launches Sniper in Europe

June 8, 2021—Embolx Inc., a manufacturer of microcatheters for arterial embolization procedures, announced a limited release of its Sniper balloon occlusion microcatheter in the European market.

According to the company, the Sniper delivery system for pressure-directed arterial embolization therapy is designed to increase embolic loading and improved tumor response. The Sniper alters blood flow dynamics by controlling pressure to increase therapeutic agent delivery into target areas for the treatment of tumors, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and uterine fibroids. This therapy allows interventional radiologists to deliver drugs and embolic agents to targeted treatment areas while protecting surrounding healthy tissues.

Embolx advised that its second-generation Sniper microcatheter is offered in Europe in straight-tip and K-tip options and 130- and 150-cm lengths. These options enable interventional radiologist physicians to access both femoral and radial sites and to navigate tortuous arterial anatomy.

Sniper is now being released into top centers in the United Kingdom and will expand throughout Europe over the coming months, stated Embolx.
